I went to Madeira with my best friend for a week of hiking, with my camera coming along everywhere we went.

We stayed in different places across the island, met locals and other travellers along the way and spent most of our days outside. What I loved most was how every hike felt completely different. One day we were walking through tropical green forests, the next we were high up in the mountains surrounded by nothing but mist and wind. We had sun, rain, cold, clouds, dry landscapes, beaches, cliffs and the ocean. Sometimes all in the same day.

My camera was always somewhere around my neck, so I photographed whatever we came across. Not just the big views, but also the people we met, the places we stayed and the small moments in between.

Postcards from Madeira became a collection of what our week on the island actually felt like.
